Today, Xiaomi is one of the leaders in the smartphone market. In June, as we mentioned in a previous article, the Chinese manufacturer has even climbed to the first place by overtaking Samsung and Apple on the global market.

But if Xiaomi breaks through on the smartphone market, its tablets have not had the same success. The manufacturer has already offered tablets to compete with the iPad. But these products have had mixed success and for years, its Mi Pad range seems to have been neglected by the manufacturer.

Will Xiaomi launch iPad-killers?

This year, however, Xiaomi should make an interesting comeback in the tablet market. For several months, in fact, many sources have been talking about the development of three Xiaomi tablets. And while the previous models were mid-range products, Xiaomi’s new tablets would have more interesting specs and premium chips capable of rivaling those of the iPad.

Now, the existence of these tablets is almost confirmed by Xiaomi, which is preparing for a major product launch this August. As reported by XDA, on its Weibo page (the Chinese social network), Xiaomi recently posted a teaser for its upcoming tablet(s).

Besides the fact that this teaser almost confirms that the new iPad competitors are coming, it also reveals a new information: obviously, these will be compatible with a stylus.

Also note that according to rumors, the design of Xiaomi’s new tablets should be reminiscent of the iPad Pro. The screen would have a diagonal of 10.9 inches and a refresh rate of 120 Hz. Under the hood, there would be a high-end Qualcomm Snapdragon chip (8 series). And in terms of photography, Xiaomi could equip its tablets with two sensors on the back.

A market that interests more and more manufacturers after 2020

If Xiaomi is interested again in the tablet market, it is probably because this type of product is again interesting the public. In 2020, the pandemic (along with telecommuting and distance learning) has boosted tablet sales worldwide. And this increase in demand has greatly benefited Apple and Samsung.

Incidentally, like Xiaomi, OnePlus now seems to be taking an interest in tablets. In early July, we relayed a rumor that the brand was getting ready to launch a product called the OnePlus Pad. Another BBK Electronic-related brand, Realme, is also reportedly preparing to launch a tablet called Realme Pad.

But of course, the star of Xiaomi’s event this August should be its new high-end smartphone: the Mi Mix 4. Apart from premium specs comparable to the Mi 11 Ultra, this smartphone would be Xiaomi’s first model with a device that can be used for a variety of front photo hidden under the screen.
