While many fans were hoping for a nice surprise regarding Stranger Things 4 with a Halloween release (as was the case for season 2), Netflix confirms today that the new season will not arrive until 2022. To make amends, the streaming platform is releasing a new 30-second teaser to check out never-before-seen footage of the new adventures of Mike, Dustin, Will, Lucas, Max and Eleven!

If you haven’t finished the first three seasons of Stranger Things and haven’t seen the first teasers for season 4, we don’t recommend reading on.

Stranger Things 4 in 2022

After confirming that filming will resume in October 2020 and after a mysterious teaser in May, Netflix has confirmed that Stranger Things season 4 will debut exclusively on its platform in 2022. Fans have been eagerly awaiting the continuation of the adventures of Mike, Dustin, Will, Lucas, Max and Eleven for two years now, but they’ll have to be a little more patient. To date, Netflix has not given any information more precise than a vast “2022” for the release of this new season which could be the last.

In any case, this new teaser looks like an homage to the series with many images from the first three seasons. Stranger Things 4 is expected to pick up right at the end of season 3 when Hopper manages to close the portal to the upside down.

In the first teaser released in February 2020, we learned that Police Officer Hopper had finally survived the explosion of the secret Russian compound at the end of season 3. The latter would be held prisoner in Russia. In the second teaser of May, Eleven’s childhood seemed to be at the center of the plot of this new season. In this third preview, we have the right to very few new images. We can see Hopper, with a shaved head, determined to find the Hawkins’ children, and to finish once and for all with this parallel world.
