Officially confirmed for the first time in the past week, despite the plethora of previously leaked information, Samsung continues to slowly move forward with its original plans for the August Galaxy Unpacked at which it will unveil its new Galaxy Z Fold3 and Galaxy Z Flip3 foldable phones, with the preview of the first teaser trailer for the event.

Under the curious tagline “Is ‘good’ good enough?“, and based on our own speculation, everything points to Samsung feeling confident enough to showcase a generational leap important enough to finally normalize this foldable form factor among consumer devices, beyond its current exclusive nature.

Unfortunately, though, while a price drop is expected, it won’t mean that prices are going to be exactly affordable either. The Galaxy Z Fold3 could hit the market with a price tag of around 1,600 euros, a figure we get after reducing the launch price of the current-generation model by 400 euros (20%). For its part, the Galaxy Z Flip3 should be around, after applying that 20% discount, 1,100 euros in its base configuration, while the model with 5G could go up to 1,200 euros.

However, as interesting as the new handsets may be, if the Galaxy Z line continues to maintain these high prices, it is likely that most users will continue to focus on the more popular Galaxy S and Galaxy Note families.

Recall once again that the celebration of the official Samsung Galaxy Unpacked event is scheduled for August 11 at 16:00 (Spanish peninsula time), where in addition to the Galaxy Z Fold3 and Galaxy Z Flip3, is expected to present the new smartwatches Galaxy Watch 3 and Galaxy Watch Active 4, as well as the new generation of Galaxy Buds2 headphones.
