You have until Friday, August 6 to battle and capture Dialga in Pokémon GO raids! The Legendary Pokémon of Time is actually available in its chromatic (Shiny) version for the very first time. If you’re looking for its stats, best counters, attack analysis and more, you’ve come to the right place. Let’s get started with the guide!
Dialga’s stats on Pokémon GO: Everything you need to know
- Raid boss CPs: 53,394
- Dialga 100 IV CPs: 2,307 for a normal level 20 encounter. 2,884 for a weather boosted Dialga. The closer you get to these numbers, the more likely your Dialga is to be perfect.
- PVP and Raid Performance: Thanks to his Steel type, Dialga is the only Dragon in the game that is not weak to his own type. In plain English, this means that it is an ideal Pokémon Dragon slayer in raids. Whether it’s Palkia, which will be coming soon, or Pokémon like Rayquaza, Dialga is simply excellent at raiding. Also thanks to its exceptional dual type, Dialga also does very well in the Master League as it crushes the best Pokémon in the tier: Giratina.
- Weaknesses: As we have seen, Dialga is a Steel/Dragon type Pokémon. It is therefore weak against Fighting and Ground types.

, first of all, you should know that the weather boost is obtained thanks to windy and snowy weather. With this, you will meet a Dialga at level 25 instead of level 20 but it will be more complicated to beat.
To make life easier for you as an attacker, you can choose between sunny weather, which favours ground types, and cloudy weather, which favours combat types.

Draco-Meteor is by far Dialga’s most dangerous attack. Its enormous damage can one-shot or nearly one-shot many of your Pokémon. Draco-Meteor is the main reason why we don’t recommend attacking Dialga with only 3 or 4.
The other two charged attacks aren’t much of a threat compared to Draco Meteor. Especially Fatal-Lightning, which your Ground-type counters don’t fear in the least.
The best attacks to go after on your side are the two Dragon abilities. Whether using Dialga in raids or PVP, Draco-Blast and DracoMeteor should be a priority.
How many trainers does it take to beat Dialga on Pokémon GO?
It is impossible to beat Dialga as a duo. Under ideal conditions, beating it with 3 trainers is theoretically possible, but we don’t recommend it either. Quite frankly, go with at least 4 good Trainers. Let’s even say 5 just to be on the safe side.
If you’re not very experienced or want to go really fast, come with a nice bunch of friends (at least 8).
