For almost fifteen years, the iPhone Photography Awards have been rewarding the best shots taken with an iPhone. This year, the grand prize went to a Hungarian, with an image taken with an iPhone 7.

Since 2007, the iPhone Photography Awards (IPPAWARDS) have been organizing a great photo competition with a common rule: the images must have been captured with an iPhone. Like any self-respecting competition, a grand prize is awarded, a podium is established, and winners are nominated in several categories such as architecture, landscape or portrait.
Grand prize goes to a journalist
The grand prize goes to photojournalist Istvan Kerekes, who captured his shot with an iPhone 7. We can’t stress enough that having the latest equipment is not the first criterion for taking a good photo, as theiPhone 7 was released in 2016! The shot reveals two shepherds carrying two lambs. The landscape is desolate and shows an industrial atmosphere that creates a strong and striking contrast.
