At the beginning of the month we had ignited your interest in the release of MIUI 13, whose official presentation should take place in August during an event dedicated to the launch of new products such as Mi Pad 5 and Mi Mix 4 among others, talking to you about the fact that MIUI 13 will have multilingual support for the Chinese version as well, with the possibility of becoming the only variant in circulation, effectively eliminating the various gills such as Global, Russia, India etc..

Apparently

some good tempone decided to take advantage of this news by putting on the market of fake ROMs, which could be not only unsafe for your system but also do not allow you to proceed with updates via OTA officially released by the MIUI development team

.

Multilingual support for MIUI China is already a reality… yes, but with Fake ROMs

As you can see from the images above, the Fake ROMs in question are also poorly done, because although they bear the word CN within the nomenclature of the specific ROM for the smartphone, they actually look like Global ROMs. But apart from that from what we understand that the ROMs are fakes?

Reporting part of our guide published here on the blog

:

  1. by going to settings ⇒ device information ⇒ MIUI Version , you can find one of these “clues”:
    • the version code ends with two zeros (e.g. x.x.0.0);
    • it is reported that you have a Global but the code contains the code CN identifying the China (eg Global Stable with code MAACNDI for Mi5);
    • you have by default a xiaomi.eu ROM without having requested and unlocked the Bootloader (xiaomi.eu ROMs can be installed only after unlocking the bootloader and installing a Custom Recovery)
  2. you have a Global Stable ROM (previous to 8.1.0) containing the Italian language, but in fact your device has not yet received the Italian language on the Global Stabile

Obviously, in case you find yourself with a Fake or “fake” ROM, we always recommend replacing it with an official one so that you can receive OTA updates and have as few lag and bug issues as possible.
