Hublot Mare Nostrum, Hublot Loves Summer, Hublot invades the Big Blue… are three of the concepts that are handled in the press release regarding these five novelties. As it is not specified which is the “official” name that Hublot gives to this set of novelties, I had to make a decision and I have decided for “Mare Nostrum” because the Mediterranean Sea is where the five populations to which these special editions are dedicated are located and it is much more accurate than the other two concepts.

Exactly two weeks ago we published an article about the Big Bang Unico Summer and in it I made the easy prediction that it would not be the only Hublot special edition we would see this year paying homage to a summer theme. What I didn’t imagine, because of the unusualness, is that we would be presented with five in unison.

Hublot Mare Nostrum 2021

Apart from the fact of paying homage to five glamorous Mediterranean towns, all these special editions have in common that they are based on the Classic Fusion Chronograph. Therefore, they all share the same geometry, the same dimensions, 45 millimeters in diameter by 13.05 mm thick, and the same technical characteristics, starring the Hublot HUB1143 caliber that houses inside.

From here, everything is focused on aesthetic details, especially color, to customize each of the pieces. We will also see that some of these customizations will be familiar to us…

Classic Fusion Chronograph Boutique Forte dei Marmi

The Classic Fusion Chronograph Boutique Forte dei Marmi is probably the most significant novelty among those comprising this Hublot Mare Nostrum 2021 set and it is for two reasons. The first is that this is the first occasion on which Hublot pays tribute to the Tuscan seaside resort of Forte dei Marmi. The reason is the inauguration this year of a new Hublot boutique in that town….

<img src=”https://watch-test.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/07/Hublot-Mare-Nostrum-2021-Classic-Fusion-Chronograph-Boutique-Forte-dei-Marmi.jpg 1600w, https://watch-test.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/07/Hublot-Mare-Nostrum-2021-Classic-Fusion-Chronograph-Boutique-Forte-dei-Marmi-232×171.jpg 232w, https://watch-test.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/07/Hublot-Mare-Nostrum-2021-Classic-Fusion-Chronograph-Boutique-Forte-dei-Marmi-768×565.jpg 768w, https://watch-test.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/07/Hublot-Mare-Nostrum-2021-Classic-Fusion-Chronograph-Boutique-Forte-dei-Marmi-610×449.jpg 610w” alt=”Hublot Mare Nostrum 2021 – Classic Fusion Chronograph Boutique Forte dei Marmi” width=”1600″ height=”1178″ />

The second reason that sets it apart from the norm is that it is the only one of these five special editions that does not resort to blue for its personalisation, the quintessential navy and summer colour. Instead, it opts for beige/gold, a shade with a more luxurious or desert-like character. Not having had this watch in hand, it is difficult to judge which of these two concepts the Classic Fusion Chronograph Boutique Forte dei Marmi fits more into.

The case is made of beige ceramic that alternates polished and satin finishes. The dial back is also beige and is given a sunray finish. On the other hand, the two sub-dials opt for silver which, without stridency, adds an attractive contrast to the whole.

Hublot Mare Nostrum 2021 - Classic Fusion Chronograph Boutique Forte dei Marmi, caseback

Like the rest of these Hublot Mare Nostrum 2021 watches, in the sapphire crystal of the case back of the Boutique Forte dei Marmi we find printed the Forte Lorenese, the great fortress symbol of this Italian town.

The Classic Fusion Chronograph Boutique Forte dei Marmi will be issued in a limited edition of only 35 pieces. The price is EUR 14,100.

Classic Fusion Chronograph Boutique Capri

This Classic Fusion Chronograph Boutique Chronograph Capri 2021 immediately reminds us of the one Hublot presented to us in 2019 paying homage to the same island (article). It does so because it resorts to the same combination of sky blue and white shades in its external elements, although obviously with another distribution.

<img src=”https://watch-test.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/07/Hublot-Mare-Nostrum-2021-Classic-Fusion-Chronograph-Boutique-Capri.jpg 1600w, https://watch-test.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/07/Hublot-Mare-Nostrum-2021-Classic-Fusion-Chronograph-Boutique-Capri-238×171.jpg 238w, https://watch-test.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/07/Hublot-Mare-Nostrum-2021-Classic-Fusion-Chronograph-Boutique-Capri-768×552.jpg 768w, https://watch-test.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/07/Hublot-Mare-Nostrum-2021-Classic-Fusion-Chronograph-Boutique-Capri-610×439.jpg 610w, https://watch-test.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/07/Hublot-Mare-Nostrum-2021-Classic-Fusion-Chronograph-Boutique-Capri-536×386.jpg 536w” alt=”Hublot Mare Nostrum 2021 – Classic Fusion Chronograph Boutique Capri” width=”1600″ height=”1151″ />

To make the case, Hublot has opted for titanium, while for the bezel has been chosen ceramic in the characteristic turquoise blue tone that we have already seen in other watches of the Swiss firm. Reinforcing this shade of blue, the rubber strap that equips this Chronograph Capri opts for the same color.

The dial background is completely white, creating a pleasant contrast with the interior of the two sub-dials to which turquoise blue is again applied. The applied hour markers are made of ruthenium with a polished finish.

Hublot Mare Nostrum 2021 - Classic Fusion Chronograph Boutique Capri, caseback

As in the previous “Capri” editions, the two emblematic “faraglioni” rocks, iconic symbols of the Italian island, are printed on the sapphire crystal caseback.

The Classic Fusion Chronograph Boutique Capri is issued in limited edition format, this time in 30 pieces. The price is EUR 11,800.

Classic Fusion Chronograph Boutique Mykonos

As in the case of the “Capri” that we have just seen, this Classic Fusion Chronograph Boutique Mykonos also generates us a “déjà vu” as it resorts to the same combination of shades as the one Classic Fusion Chronograph that Hublot dedicated to this island in 2013 (article). The difference is that in this 2021 edition, the elements to which each color is applied are altered.

It is a combination of intense navy blue with the gold emanating from the pink gold. In this 2021 edition, Hublot uses blue ceramic for the case, with alternating polished and satin-brushed finishes. The same blue tone is found on the dial back and sub-dials.

The bezel is made of rose gold with a satin-brushed finish. The same precious metal is used for the hour markers, the appliques framing the two sub-dials, the crown and the two chronograph pushers.

Classic Fusion Mykonos Chrono BlueCeramic KingGold

In addition to the combination of materials and shades, following the pattern of the Mykonos editions that Hublot has made, the small seconds hand has an attractive decoration, made in gold, which emulates the blades of the Kato Myloi, the iconic windmills of the island.

The Classic Fusion Chronograph Boutique Mykonos will be issued in a limited edition format, only 50 pieces. It is priced at EUR 20,700.

Classic Fusion Chronograph Boutique Bodrum

As with the Forte dei Marmi, the Classic Fusion Chronograph Boutique Bodrum is a first. The reason is the same in the sense that it refers to a new Hublot boutique and therefore had not yet issued any special edition. As the name suggests, it is about Bodrum, an iconic coastal town in Turkey.

<img src=”https://watch-test.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/07/Hublot-Mare-Nostrum-2021-Classic-Fusion-Chronograph-Boutique-Bodrum.jpg 1600w, https://watch-test.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/07/Hublot-Mare-Nostrum-2021-Classic-Fusion-Chronograph-Boutique-Bodrum-234×171.jpg 234w, https://watch-test.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/07/Hublot-Mare-Nostrum-2021-Classic-Fusion-Chronograph-Boutique-Bodrum-768×560.jpg 768w, https://watch-test.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/07/Hublot-Mare-Nostrum-2021-Classic-Fusion-Chronograph-Boutique-Bodrum-610×445.jpg 610w” alt=”Hublot Mare Nostrum 2021 – Classic Fusion Chronograph Boutique Bodrum” width=”1600″ height=”1167″ />

Again, blue is the protagonist of this edition of the Classic Fusion Bodrum, but it can also be considered as the most sober application of the five comprising the Hublot Mare Nostrum.

We have a rather dark shade of blue applied to the dial background, in contrast to the white of the two sub-dials. An equivalent blue is applied to the alligator leather strap. The case is made of titanium and alternates polished and satin-brushed finishes.

Classic Fusion Chrono Boutique Bodrum

The case back of this Turkish edition is also the most discreet of this quintet that Hublot shows us. On its sapphire crystal we do not find any engraving or printing that refers to the location of the boutique. We only find engraved “BOUTIQUE BODRUM” on the titanium ring that holds the crystal.

Like the other summer chronographs presented by Hublot, the Classic Fusion Chronograph Boutique Bodrum is issued in a limited edition of 25 pieces. The price is EUR 12,000.

Classic Fusion Chronograph Boutique Ibiza

With the Classic Fusion Chronograph Boutique Ibiza, we come to the westernmost of the islands that pay homage to the Hublot Mare Nostrum 2021. It is also the most surprising watch of the five that Hublot groups in these Mare Nostrum 2021 editions as it is not a novelty. Comparing the images and technical data supplied to us by Hublot, it is exactly the same watch that it announced in July 2019 and to which we dedicate this article. What’s more, the images we have received are the same.

<img src=”https://watch-test.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/07/Hublot-Mare-Nostrum-2021-Classic-Fusion-Chronograph-Boutique-Ibiza.jpg 1600w, https://watch-test.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/07/Hublot-Mare-Nostrum-2021-Classic-Fusion-Chronograph-Boutique-Ibiza-230×171.jpg 230w, https://watch-test.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/07/Hublot-Mare-Nostrum-2021-Classic-Fusion-Chronograph-Boutique-Ibiza-768×572.jpg 768w, https://watch-test.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/07/Hublot-Mare-Nostrum-2021-Classic-Fusion-Chronograph-Boutique-Ibiza-610×454.jpg 610w” alt=”Hublot Mare Nostrum 2021 – Classic Fusion Chronograph Boutique Ibiza” width=”1600″ height=”1191″ />

The only explanation I can think of is that Hublot didn’t want to leave any of its boutiques located in emblematic Mediterranean towns and that, for whatever reason, it hasn’t issued a new version of the Classic Fusion Chronograph Ibiza.

Although the Covid-19 probably had a lot to do with it, it is strange that there are still units available of this watch, whose production was limited to 50 units. But it is even more so that its price has changed from the 14,850 that was announced in 2019 to the 14,300 EUR that Hublot now points out in its press release.

Before ending this article, it is important to note that to these five Hublot boutiques we must add the French boutique in Saint-Tropez and the one in Monaco. Of these two boutiques no special edition has been made for this 2021… for the time being.
