Whether you’re a technology enthusiast or a consumer, the proliferation of smartphone brands has certainly not escaped your notice. Among the newcomers, Xiaomi is undoubtedly among the most competitive on the market. As you’ll see in our comparison of the brand’s best smartphones, it’s positioned in all segments.

Landed in May 2018 in France, the Chinese giant has bet on two ingredients: an excellent value for money and the frequent launch of new models. The Chinese brand is therefore playing the card of volume and low margins, a strategy at the opposite end of the market tenors like Apple or Samsung.

If this formula has some advantages (a model for every budget and every need) it tends to lose the consumer in a too wide offer. It is difficult to make a choice among the dozens of models launched each year. Since the beginning of the year 2021, Xiaomi has already launched more than a dozen new smartphones! To see more clearly, we have therefore sorted through the manufacturer’s catalog to get the gist of it for you.

Warning: all the products in our comparisons are already tested or under test. Some models that have been announced but not yet tested do not appear in this comparison. It will be updated regularly.

Monstrous. That’s how we could describe the Mi 11 Ultra from Xiaomi. This huge smartphone is of course distinguished by its photo module covering the top third of the device.

This was needed at least to house the Mi 11 Ultra’s multitude of sensors, one of which comes with a periscope lens capable of zooming up to 120x. You will have understood, the photo is its dada. Xiaomi has put all its know-how in this Mi 11 Ultra for a bluffing result. The most premium smartphone of the brand comes to rub the tenors of the market with brilliance.

Of course, the Mi 11 Ultra is not just a camera. It’s also ultra powerful, boasts a gorgeous screen, comfortable battery life and fast charging. In short, all the necessary package.

Mind you, like Samsung’s Galaxy S21 Ultra, <a href=”https://www.presse-citron.net/test-xiaomi-mi-11-ultra/” target=”_blank” rel=”nofollow noopener”>the Mi 11 Ultra is a very large smartphone. It may not be suitable for everyone.

It’s very stylish, and also boasts a stunning 6.81″ AMOLED display with 120Hz AdaptiveSync refresh rate. It also outperforms all the competition in terms of audio quality, thanks in part to a partnership with Harman-Kardon.

On the photo side, Xiaomi puts the package. The Mi 11 embeds a wide-angle, an ultra-wide-angle and a macro lens. Its main sensor reaches the 108 Mpxl. Xiaomi has especially optimized the digital processing and shooting modes. If it is not the best photophone of the moment, the Mi 11 shines by its versatility and will stimulate your creativity.

After the Mi 10 and Mi 10 Pro were a bit expensive, Xiaomi proposed the Mi 10T and Mi 10T Pro. The latter perfectly embodies the Xiaomi philosophy. Offered around 550 euros at its release, this model stands out for its excellent value for money.

For the programs, a 6.67-inch 144Hz LCD display, a Snapdragon 865 chip and 8GB of RAM. Above all, the Mi 10T Pro stands out as one of the most enduring smartphones on the market. Count on more than two days of versatile use.

Xiaomi Mi 9T Pro: the affordable top of the range

After an excellent Mi 9 launched at the beginning of 2019, Xiaomi has gone back to the drawing board a little later with the Mi 9T and Mi 9T Pro. The latter is undoubtedly establishing itself as a true “flagship killer”, a widely used term, but one that really suits it perfectly.

With its Snapdragon 855 processor and 6GB of RAM, the Mi 9T Pro ensures top-notch performance and will meet the demands of all users. The battery capacity increases compared to the Xiaomi Mi 9 (4000 mAh versus 3300 mAh) and significantly improves the smartphone’s battery life (about two days).

The Mi 9T Pro stands out with its 6.39-inch AMOLED display that has no notch or punch. The Chinese company has camouflaged its 20-megapixel front sensor very well in a retractable mechanism. Video or gaming enthusiasts will particularly appreciate this slab covering the entire front panel.

Finally, the Mi 9T Pro inherits the triple camera sensor of its predecessor, except for one detail. The main Sony IMX586 sensor replaces the Mi 9’s IMX582. The Mi 9T Pro not only stands out as a better photophone, but it can also shoot in 4K at 60 frames per second.

Priced between 350 and 450 euros depending on the distributor, the Mi 9T Pro is without a doubt one of the best Xiaomi smartphones in terms of value for money at the time of writing. The only thing missing is the lack of wireless charging, which is present in the Mi 9. But for this price, we forgive him very willingly.

With the Mi Note 10, Xiaomi is going all out on photography with a module consisting of 4 sensors, including a 108-megapixel one. Check it out:

  • Ultra high-resolution wide-angle: f/1.69; 82° field of view; 108 MP 1/1.33″ sensor (1.6 µm photosites); optical and electronic stabilization; 4-in-1 super Pixel
  • 2x telephoto lens: 50 mm f/2; 12 MP sensor (1.4 µm photosites); optical and electronic stabilization
  • 5x telephoto: 125mm f/2; 5MP sensor; optical stabilization; 5x optical zoom, 10x hybrid zoom, 50x digital zoom
  • Ultra wide angle: 13mm f/2.2; 117° field of view; 20MP 1/2.8″ sensor (1µm photosites)
  • Macro: f/2.4; 2 MP 1/5″ sensor (1.75µm photosites); autofocus 2 to 10 cm

In addition to its excellent photography skills, the Mi Note 10 sports a 6.47-inch AMOLED display with a “water drop” notch. Behind its design, which is very similar to that of the Huawei P30 Pro, it houses a Snapdragon 730G processor, a “gaming” version of the mid-range Snapdragon 730 chip. Finally, the 5260mAh battery provides a 2-day battery life and can be quickly charged with a 30W charger included in the box.

The Mi Note 10 is priced between 400 and 500 euros which again makes it an excellent value for money, and the best Xiaomi smartphone in terms of photography.

Xiaomi Mi 9T: the best value for money

The Mi 9T has a lot in common with the Pro version: original design, 6.39-inch AMOLED display across the entire front, retractable front camera module.

The main differences are in the guts of the beast. The Mi 9T packs a mid-range Snapdragon 730 processor along with 6 or 8GB of RAM. This combo provides the essentials for everyday use and even allows for multiple demanding uses without too many slowdowns. Gamers will also find what they’re looking for, as long as they accept a few concessions.

The 4000mAh battery provides 2 days of autonomy and recharges quickly. Icing on the cake: it still integrates a 3.5 mm jack and proves to be quite good in audio. Xiaomi distinguishes the Mi 9T from the Pro version on the photo part. The standard model incorporates a triple sensor of 8 + 48 + 13 megapixels bringing enough versatility and quality for the main uses. So you’ll notice that only the main sensor sets it apart from the 9T Pro.

Retailing at around 250 euros, the Mi 9T embodies the best value for money from Xiaomi at the moment, it’s one of our favourites (and it’s one of the best Xiaomi smartphones at all).

Like its predecessor, the Redmi Note 10 Pro stands out as the benchmark for smartphones under €300. In addition to its elegant design, the Redmi Note 10 Pro features a Full HD+ AMOLED display with a refresh rate of 120 Hz. Hardly believable for a smartphone priced at only 279 euros.

It also boasts excellent battery life and a 33W fast charging system. Enduring and powerful, it perfectly meets the needs of any user.

Let’s add to that a clear improvement in photo quality compared to the Redmi Note 9 Pro. Xiaomi actually equips the Redmi Note 10 Pro with a 108MPl main sensor, no less. In addition, it has improved the digital processing especially for night photos. At less than 300 euros, it is impossible to find better.

The back of the Xiaomi Poco X3 NFC

Since last year, Xiaomi pushes its brand Poco. With the Poco X3, the manufacturer bets on the essentials for a contained price. Offered at 200 euros at its release (last year), it is distinguished primarily by its 120 Hz screen.

BehindIt’s a very original design, to say the least, but it’s also very durable and uses Xiaomi’s MIUI overlay for a very pleasant daily experience.

Finally, its triple photo sensor ensures a certain versatility. The photo quality is more than adequate for a smartphone at this price. A must-have for small budgets. Waiting for the POCO X3 Pro, announced at the beginning of the year.
