Four of Xiaomi’s most important smartphones, both in terms of ven dite and performance, are receiving Android 12: these are POCO F1, Redmi Note 7 Pro, Xiaomi Mi 8
and Xiaomi Mi MIX 2S. For all intents and purposes, they are three top of the line and one mid range. As anticipated, the arrival of Android 12 is not official but it is via a Custom ROM. This means that several bugs will be present and some things still to be fixed. Paranoid Android, one of the most mainstream ROMs on Android, has given a second life to these devices.
Paranoid Android has released Sapphire Alpha 1 for the Xiaomi POCO F1, Redmi Note 7 Pro, Xiaomi Mi 8 and Xiaomi Mi MIX 2S. Being an alpha version there are bugs and it’s not entirely stable, but it’s a ROM that can be used on a daily basis but most importantly it brings Android 12 in all its facets. For completeness of information, we remember that Paranoid Android is similar to LineageOS but even more customizable. It is a ROM based on AOSP, the cleanest version of Android.
To install Paranoid Android based on Android 12 for POCO F1, Redmi Note 7 Pro, Xiaomi Mi 8 and Xiaomi Mi MIX 2S we’ll need to have the bootloader unlocked, a custom recovery like TWRP and download the corresponding ROM. We leave you the link below for each individual device.
