With new original TV series, movies and exclusive shows, Amazon Prime subscribers will be spoilt for choice browsing through Amazon’s streaming TV catalogue. Among Amazon Prime Video’s August new releases – plenty of them this August 2021 – are some highly anticipated titles for viewers, such as brand new releases Cruel Summer and Nine Perfect Strangers, the second seasons of Modern Love, Star Trek: Lower Decks and Fernando, as well as exclusive movies Bad Stories and Evangelion: 3.0 + 1.01 Thrice Upon A Time.

An increasingly rich catalog for Amazon Prime subscribers and that will continue to expand: Amazon announce new productions and news in the area of Amazon Original products for its streaming TV platform, such as the new film with Laura Pausini, the series Mammals, the second season of Clarkson’s Farm and the documentary on footballer Robert Lewandowski.

The series not to be missed

Cruel Summer

A psychological thriller about three summers in the 1990s, when a beautiful and popular teenager disappears and another girl, who apparently has nothing to do with her, is transformed from a sweet and awkward outsider into the most popular young person in town and the most hated person in America. The 10-episode series stars executive producer Jessica Biel in the role. Coming August 6, with one episode per week.

Modern Love

Modern Love returns for a highly anticipated second season with an all-star cast and new stories of love and relationships told in all their complexity and beauty, and inspired by the New York Times column of the same name. The eight-episode second season of the acclaimed series Modern Love brings to the screen a series of stories about relationships, connections, betrayals and revelations. On Prime Video starting August 13.

Star Trek: Lower Decks

Developed by Emmy winner Mike McMahan (Rick and Morty, Solar Opposites), Star Trek: Lower Decks takes place in 2,380 and focuses on the support crew serving on one of Starfleet’s least important starships, the U.S.S. Cerritos. Ensigns Mariner, Boimler, Rutherford and Tendi must continue to perform their duties as well as have a social life, and often this happens while the ship is being hit by dozens of galactic anomalies. The first episode will be available from August 13. The next nine will be released weekly until the season finale scheduled for October 15.

Nine Perfect Strangers

Is Masha batshit crazy or is she the solution to everything? The answer to that question will come at the end of the Prime Video TV series “Nine Perfect Strangers.” Amazon Prime Video presented today with the official trailer the first images of the TV series starring Nicole Kidman and Melissa McCarthy: eight episodes based on the bestselling novel by Australian author Liane Moriarty.

Masha played by Nicole Kidman is the woman whose mission is to restore the minds and bodies of nine strangers in a luxury wellness resort that promises a process of healing and transformation.

Coming August 20, the first three episodes, with one a week to follow.

Kevin Can F**k Himself

Kevin Can F**k Himself follows the story of Allison McRoberts (Emmy award-winning actress Annie Murphy), a woman we feel like we’ve known all our lives: the prototypical Sitcom wife. She’s beautiful and can take a joke well even when it’s directed at her, and she’s married to a guy who won the wedding lottery. We follow her as she opens her eyes to see things as they are and turns against all the injustices in her life. On Prime Video starting August 27.
